Network Administration Services


  1. Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  2. Install and maintain network hardware and software.
  3. Analyze and isolate issues.
  4. Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
  5. Evaluate and modify system's performance.
  6. Identify user needs.
  7. Determine network and system requirements.
  8. Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
  9. Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  10. Design and deploy networks.
  11. Perform network address assignment.
  12. Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
  13. Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
  14. Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
  15. Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPNgateways, intrusion detection systems.
  16. Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.







System Administration   services:

1. Installs, configures, and tests server systems and application software to support District-wide

electronic communication and collaboration, including Internet and intranet services; maintains and

upgrades program code for various systems.

2. Designs, programs, tests, debugs, and implements programs to meet user requirements.

3. Monitors, analyzes, and responds to security threats to District’s electronic communication systems;

monitors systems for irregularities, availability, errors, resource usage, and system loads.

4. Manages components such as Domain Name Service (DNS) or List server to deliver information to

users via the Internet and intranet.

5. Establishes and maintains user accounts and passwords for all electronic systems.

6. May design, edit and maintain web pages.

7. Trains and guides end-users in the efficient use of electronic services, and related components;

provides specialized technical support and assistance; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves

technical issues.

8. Supports advances in electronic communication services; repairs, recovers and resolves hardware

and software failures for impacted users.

9. May develop and maintain documentation of system standards and installation and configuration

procedures; performs file archiving and purging.

10. May serve as lead worker to other Classified staff
